Great staff at this park. Something was going on almost every evening at the club house and they had some good meals. We had a 50 amp site that was far from level, we had to put the front of our motor home on wood blocks to get anywhere near level, then the door (which is at the front) was so high off the ground we almost needed a step stool! We were told these were new sites so why weren't they level? This is an Escapees park.

This is a great Escapees campground, the sites are large and nearly level. There are good size trees and good roads. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park is out in the country some so while it is a longer drive it is also very quiet. (In addition to the $13 fee we had to pay for electricity - still a deal.)

We reserved two days ahead of our arrival. We asked for a level site and were assured that was not a problem. When we arrived about 3pm we got a site that sloped drastically to the rear and also to the drivers side. There was no way we could get anywhere near level, and we tried with boards under the wheels and jacks. Having a site that is nearly level is the one thing all campgrounds should have. There were no other sites available that would have been any better. We did get free tickets to the breakfast buffet - the food was fine, the service nonexistent. We were so ready to leave the place and will never return as our problems far outweighed any good points about the place.

The roads are breaking up, one road was blocked as it was impassable. The sites are pull-through concrete pads, but along the side of the sites it is mud. Forget the casino for dinning, it is over priced for sub-grade food. There were small garbage bags all over the place at 6PM, someone must have picked them up later. On the plus side, the park works for an overnight as it is right off I35. We had no problem getting in and out with our 40 foot MH. With a casino card you get 5 cents off a gallon gas or diesel at their station and again we had no problems getting in and out to get diesel. The casino really needs to pay some major attention to this park or it will soon be totally unacceptable.

Easy off I90 and easy into and out of sites. The park is well maintained. Our site was not level, we were staying one night so did the best possible with our jacks. Lots of highway noise and a train nearby. We were there for 15 hours so $38 plus tax made it over $3 an hour. Next time that direction we will stay somewhere less expensive or at the Flying J just down the road. Too bad campgrounds don't have an overnight charge for folks who don't use any of the facilities.

We had no problem getting into our site with our 40 foot MH and back out to the road the next day. The people in the office were friendly and we were led to our site. We had called ahead for reservations and they held a site for us with just our last name. The park was clean and quiet. We will stop here again as we make our way from Florida to the north.

Nice park for a night or a week. Easy in and out sites. Park was clean and well cared for, no trashy trailers! Some noise from the near-by casinos.

Hopefully the road construction will be done soon, it was a major problem getting to this park then getting back on I 25 South. The park was clean and well managed. There was no grass, just some weeds, the place was dusty and we dragged in a lot of dirt in on our shoes. The pull-through sites were long enough and extra wide, we could park our car between our Motor Home and our neighbors and still have room. The park had noise issues - I25 close by, a train track and an airport. We'd stay here again (if the construction was completed) for a one night stop over.

The rate is with the Passport discount. The park is hard to find, I used the address for Turning Wheel RV which led us right to Turning Wheel, just beyond is the non-gated entrance to the campground. The park was clean, nice grass and some trees. There is some road noise, sirens woke us up during the night - otherwise the park is quiet. We stayed here the night before a repair appointment at Turning Wheel, because the park is right behind Turning Wheel it works well. If the park were full maneuvering a big rig around could be a problem.

We had a nice site towards the back, the site was long, wide and our Motor Home was on concrete. Even though this park is small we had no problems maneuvering our 40 footer around. I would have given this park a 10 but all sites weren't as nice as the one we had. Reservations are a must as this park was full the nights were were there.

The park was clean with level pull-throughs, but the sites were about as wide as our Motor Home with our slides out. All dirt sites and very dusty, and they would be mud if it rained. They need to trim trees at the entrance so it can better be seen and would also make it easier to get back out into traffic. This worked fine for an overnight stop. It was far enough off the highway to be quiet. We'd stay here again as a one night stop through place to stay.

The rate is for Good Sam with 50 amp. We had a long and wide site. While there is little grass the park does have full grown trees. The office is open a limited time - at least in October. We had a neighbor that starts his diesel truck at 5AM probably to go to work - management should ask him to park his truck elsewhere. The cable TV is good, no wi-fi at sites - just at the office. The park seemed full all nights we were there so reservations are important.

This is a trailer/RV park, but the trailers are in one area and the RVs in another. The RV part is very well kept, green grass, new looking picnic tables, and huge trees. They have good cable and wifi. We had no trouble moving our 40' motorhome around. It was about full each of the three nights we were there so reservations would be good. While on the phone ask for directions as the directions in Trailer Life are not correct. If ever in this area again we will stay at this park.

We saved $10 a night by taking a back-in site which was large enough for out 40 foot MH. I do agree with the other posts that this place ia way overpriced but it is a nice, well taken care of park located right by the west entrance to Yellowstone. The water pressure was low and charges for Wi-Fi. The office staff of work campers were helpful in giving us directions and recommendations for places to eat. This park was full every night that we were there, so have reservations!

This is one big gravel parking lot with cabins and motel rooms mixed in with the RV sites. When a wind came along dust was everywhere. Two redeeming factors: the view of the mountains and river are great and a good location close to Cody and Yellowstone. The breakfast buffet was a good deal, but the dinners were high priced - worth a trip back into Cody if you want to eat out.

Our site was long enough for a 40 foot MH, but hardly wide enough for our slides. We had to walk under our bedroom slide to get to our car behing the MH. Our cable connection didn't work so the manager put a spliter on our neighbors - then his didn't work. Like previously stated there were a lot of working people, but they were quiet and had little junk spread around. One reason I rated this park down is that people came from a back area and drove fast in front of us raising dust on the gravel road. The park was building a new bath house. It looked like there was a nice pool and play ground.

Take exit 162, not 164 as listed in Trailer Life. We stayed three nights here, and enjoyed our stay under the trees and by the river. The restrooms and laundry badly need to be updated, they weren't so much dirty as just OLD. We had no trouble getting into and out of our site in our 40 foot MH. The park provided a good place for some much needed R & R!

This is a great overnight park, easy to get in and out. The park is very clean and well managed. The office staff is friendly and knows what they are doing. There is an indoor pool, great for those cool nights. It is a bit overpriced but glad to pay for the ease in parking. We'd pick this park again when in the area.

We stayed here for 3 weeks, it is a clean, well kept park. Almost every day there were people out mowing and trimming and the office staff is great - friendly and accommodating. We like the back in sites for a long stay, but for a few nights the pull-throughs work fine. The park was full on the weekends so reservations a must. Wish all parks were this great!

It was the first day for the woman in the office, management failed to train her as she didn't seem to know what she was doing. She put our 40' MH in a site where we would have drug getting into then had not been able to level. There were much better sites and since there were about 10 RV's in the park we asked for and got a much better level pull-through site, only problem the electricity didn't work. We were able to plug into the electricity next to us so we didn't have to pull up jacks and move. The cable TV was good, some traffic noise but what do you expect if you want a park right of the interstate! They need to get a few truck loads of gravel as the place was mud. All in all this park is a good place to stay overnight, but needs some care - we got the feeling the place has been left out of the maintenance loop for some time.

This is a good place to park if you are visiting the Amana Colonies (which I would highly recommend). The campground needs some road repair and site leveling - trees would help. For a night or two this park will work. Work camper staff were friendly and helpful. We used Passport America and got two nights for half price

We are Thousand Trails members and are suppose to get our site for free, yet we had to pay $2 a day for 50 AMP - I hardly think we used $2 extra electricity. At least reserve the 50 AMP sites for 50 AMP users only. You will be hard pressed to find a near level site - the sites range from unlevel to extremely unlevel and these are NEW sites. Someone was asleep during construction or just didn't know people expect at least near level sites. There was no security, or security was also asleep during a loud party next door that lasted past midnight. Dogs bark and run free, but no one from management cares. The buildings have been improved from the time we were here several years ago and with some work and attention this could be a nice park. The Thousand Trails organization will be hearing from us.

This is a nice park and easy pulling off the Interstate for a night. Our only complaint is that it was impossible to get antenna TV and satellite would be a challenge with all the trees. They need to get cable. We used Passport America and paid $15.

It is easy to move a 40 foot MH towing a car around in this park. Some shade would be nice--- It is a good place to headquarter to see the RV industry and museum. Owner was friendly and anxious to help us with directions. We used our Escapees membership for a 15% discount.

Nice park close to Mall of America and other area attractions. There was some jet noise beginning about 7AM from airplanes landing or taking off from the airport, otherwise quiet. The park is very well maintained and managed by work campers who know something about RV'ing.

The park is spread out around a pond. Sites are all concrete with grass between. Everything is well maintained and clean. Staff is pleasant and efficient. We were able to get WIFI from our site which was about as far as possible from the office. There is some noise at night from car horns at the next door casino. A bus runs often to the casino where besides gambling there are several places to dine. A security car often patrols the area. There is a nice fenced in play ground and a pool across the road at a fitness center.

Easy off and easy on I90. There are service stations selling both gas and diesel that a big rig can access and a couple eating places - everything you need for an overnight stop. The park was very clean with all gravel roads and pull throughs. I would have rated this place a little lower for a long stay, but it is great for overnight.

This is a huge, nice TT. Close to Disney World and many other places. WiFi is available only in the clubhouse with no charge. We have stayed here many times and will be back. Why I rated it down is there was broken up plastic around our site and a broken up picnic table with planks missing.

Nice park, we arrived the day after a rain and didn't find any mud unlike another post. Office staff is helpful and friendly. Water pressure is low, had to fill the fresh water tank and use our pump. Electrical power is good. WiFi is $4 a day, TL lists the WiFi as being free. We would stay here again.

This is a membership park, staff would be glad to sell a membership! There is no wifi, management says it is coming soon, but we understand they have been saying that for some time. There is ONE phone connection for computers for the entire park. There are a few 50 amp sites which cost $2 more. There are a few trees, but for the most part sites are in the sun. Sites are tight and in some instances no room to park a car except on the road which is not permitted. Sewer rules are enforced. Management has a meeting every Sat. morning, a good place to find out what is going on in the park and to voice concerns. The park is well located, management is helpful.

This park is mainly intended for the "Winter Texans" that arrive in the winter, but will allow a day/week stay. PA and TT offer a half price discount. The name Tropic Winds couldn't be more true, the wind blows all the time and with few trees there is no protection. The sites are long enough for a big MH and about a third wider than most sites at other parks and have a concrete patio. There is a internet hookup at the main building and Tangonet pay wifi. The entrance is gated and the gate house staffed at all times. We were given a three page list of rules, about half apply to people staying longer. Still plenty of rules! The staff is friendly and helpful. There are a few trailer homes, but they are well kept. The park is near a airport and train. We would stay here again.

This is a nice park with full grown trees and green grass. The office people and friendly and efficient. It is easy to find, easy to park and there are numerous places to eat and visit nearby. There are a lot of long term people, some with trashy RV's and a lot of junk around their site. Why do the owners allow this in otherwise a class A place? The place appeared full or almost full the three nights we were there. There is wifi which is slow with low signal, but works well enough for e-mail.

Very busy park, people leaving and coming in all the time. The pull through sites are long enough for our MH and car, there are barriers between sites to keep folks in their own areas. The reason I down grated my rating was the strange way of sewer connecting, I hardly think it is sanitary. The location is great, a good (and cheap) meal can be had at the near by cassino which is in walking distance. There are many other food and entertainment venues near. We have stayed here in the past and would stay here again.

I agree with the previous posts, this is an almost perfect RV park. The only down side is the DSL box the must be secured from the office with a $50 credit card deposit, but it works well and is a fast connection. The owners are friendly and helpful. There seem to be a few long term people, but have kept their outside stuff to a minimum. We'd be happy to find a park like this any day!

Most sites are long pull-throughs with grass and trees between sites. Along the edges are back-ins which are occupied by long term people with all their associated stuff. The park has a long list of rules, most of which don't seem to apply to the long term people - like no outside hanging of clothing, pets must be quiet, no trash outside, etc. Despite this, this park is nice and the restrooms are great. My main reason for rating this down in the inept managers. They know how to collect the money and that is ALL. They told us the reason the park isn't in TL is because the owner didn't buy an ad, we know that is not how TL does business. The free wifi has a strong signal, but needs to be reset for it to work - this is way beyond the managers.

This is a membership park, there may be some specials along with a sales person talk. When we were there the park was all but empty due to the time of year. I understand the park is very full in the winter. Most sites have long pull throughs, good voltage, good water pressure, clean and well groomed. There are many huge palm trees making the park look very attractive. The park easy to find off I 10 and easy to access. The park staff was friendly and helpful. As far as TT parks go, this is one of the nicer ones.

I agree with the other posts, this is a nice park. It is clean and for the most part, quiet. There are large trees and grass between sites. Wifi works great and it is free! Management is friendly and helpful.

Sites were close together on gravel, paved roads. Some sites have a view of the Columbia river, none right on the waterfront. Wifi is available for $4.95 a day. There are a number of long term people who must go to work or someplace about 5AM as there is much door slamming and diesel truck running at that time. The park is clean and managers are pleasant and helpful. I would recommend reservations.

This park is very well kept ADULT park. The trailer sites are maintained and no junk around them. Wi-Fi is available at the laundry. The RV's are in a separate area from the trailers. There is a good pressure wash. It has been full the three nights we have been here, so get reservations.

This campground has an interesting layout, but seems to work. Low, to very low water pressure, we filled our tank and used our pump. There is one TV station and Wi-Fi in the office, which works well. Only complaint is their help needs some costumer service training. The young lady said maybe 5 words to us, she was more interested in the young man who was there.

Good cable TV and wifi works well. Next to the Alaskan Highway, but quiet at night. Big rigs can get in and out with ease. Fuel is available with a discount. Good rig wash. Pleasant people in the office. There are several caravans that stay here so reservations are a good idea.

rating [ 8/10 ]
There are no sites with sewer, but a dump is available. No TV, even on antenna. WiFi works well throughout the park. The park is off the highway and very quiet and has a nice view of mountains and a river. The sites are wide and long, no problems getting in or out in a big rig. Low water pressure. Caravans stop at this park, so check ahead or be prepared to move on.

TL gives this park a very low rating, the management said they have not been out to rate them for years. It was a trailer/RV park, there are now no trailers or long term people. The park is clean and well kept. The management is very pleasant and helpful, they led us to a site even when they were busy parking a caravan and came back later to see if everything was OK. There is good cable TV, they were installing wifi when we left. We would be glad to find this nice of park anytime. Because of possible bears and wolves, only hard sided RVs can camp here. We didn't see any wildlife!

rating [ 5/10 ]
The RV park is seperate from the trailer park, but there are a few long term RV's in the RV part with their junk spread around. Also junk stored behing a storage building, otherwise the park is well kept. It is a paking lot, RV's park on gravel - road is paved, no grass. The sites are long enough, but just wide enough to get slides out. There are trains nearby that blow their horns all day and night. Management is friendly and helpful.
07/2006
rating [ 4/10 ]
This park is overpriced for a large gravel parking lot. The sites are narrow, could hardly get our slides out, people park on the road making it narrow. You need to be an experienced driver if you want to get your big rig in and out without damage. There is a lot of noise going on at night until about midnight, where is the management to enforce quiet hours? They advertise wi-fi, but didn't work when we were there.

Nice sites, the park is designed so it is easy to move a big rig around. Main building is attractive and well maintained. The registration people are knowledgeable and friendly.
07/2006
rating [ 7/10 ]
The sites are easy for a big rig to get into and out of, room for a tow car behind. There is grass and a picnic table between sites. The down side - it is located just off a busy highway; although the noise is constant, there are no trucks shifting down and few sirens. The owner is pleasant and helpful.
07/2006
rating [ 6/10 ]
There are only 5 sewer sites, none available as it appears long-term people are in these sites. The park is off the road enough to cut the noise. Some sites have grass, picnic table and fireplace while other sites just have gravel by their doors. The sites are not level. Good Verizon cell phone service and good wi-fi.

Nice park, friendly people in the office. They came around every day for our garbage, even knocked on our door if we didn't have it out. Mr. and Mrs. Santa live there, you can visit two of their reindeer. We were going to spend a few days and it ended up to be 10 days.

Fun place to stay, the owner has a pancake toss every night. There is a sourdough bowl meal available in the evening and pancake breakfast in the morning. One TV channel, Wi-fi at the office. We had a nice site, easy to access.
06/2006
rating [ 1/10 ]
The new owner is renting long term to a group with junk spread around their old RV's. Kids run wild and loud from about 9AM to 1AM while adults party and play loud music. There is also a motel on the grounds with some long term rooms and the same noise. Not a place to stay to get a good nights sleep.
06/2006

Parking lot, OK for overnight. I couldn't use their Wi-fi because of a very low signal. Good eating place next door. Hard to maneuver around to dump station in a 38 foot MH.
